Top 100 novels
Steve Lacey pointed me to Time's Top 100 Novels of All Time.
It's a sad statement that I've only read FIVE of them. (Not counting the Judy Blume book that a girl in the fourth grade read me the dirty bits of during some memory-forging after-school escapes. *snicker*)
Nice to see Snowcrash on the list.
*I suppose you could say it's 102, and that I've read seven of them - Since lord of the rings is three books, if you want to be pedantic about it.

Well, I did a couple more than that - but this a great list to read through - it took me three times to finally finish "Infinite Jest".
Crap, I'm so uncultured. I'm at 5-6 of them. Scary thing is, I read those few for school assignments!
I guess most of my reading is non-fiction... I get my fiction from games.
Oh, and I do believe that LotR is indeed one big book that often gets split into "multiple physical parts" to make it more digestible...

Good point jason. However, if you consult Wikipedia's LotR entry (btw, there are some entries you know Wikipedia's going to have, like, a bajillion pages for), it states that LotR is 1 book, divided into 3 volumes, each of which is divided into two books. So I guess it depends on your definition!
Hmmm, where's Dante's 'Inferno' trilogy? Dostchievski's 'Underground Man/Crime&Punishment/etc. Anything from Dickens? The Illiad/Odessy/Greek tragedies? Mark Twain? Seems to me to be missing some really key developments of literature...
