Director's Cut

I haven't played it yet, but I saw that HL2: Lost Coast is out on Steam.

...and that they've added a "director's cut" type of play mode, where the developer walks you through the thing as you are playing.

Why the F no one thought of this before I have no idea. Nice job Valve!

Actually, when you beat the Chronicles of Riddick for PC, you get access to a developer mode. During replay, there are icons you can walk over and you hear, say, the level designer talk about why she made this hallway in the way she did. And this game came out about a year ago.

I didn't know that. That's cool. Anyway, I hope to see more developers do it. Great way to further connect with the consumer.

I'd like to see hommage to other games as well. e.g. walk over to a building and have the voice say "this castle was inspired by the one in Mario64" or whatever. That'd be cool.
