Can Gucci teach game devs about innovation?

Really good talk by Johanna Blakely on innovation, remix, and the lack of copyright in the fashion industry. Punchline is that the industry can't use copyright to protect innovators, and yet, they innovate. Lots to think about here. Great talk.

@anonymous: Well, maybe that should say "can be made of...". The knockof could be 800% mark-up.

Agreed the markup on some of these things is ourageous, but then the knock-off has *zero* incentive to produce at the same quality. Anyone who's seen a knock-off Rolex knows this is true.
