Portal-inspired trends & heroism

Portal incited a lot of conversation about whether it would inspire shorter games with high-quality production.

I ask instead; will it inspire games with brilliant closing-sequence songs?

And as an answer, I give you "You Have To Burn The Rope".

Sheer Brilliance.

[Update: Am I the only one that finds this reminiscent of The The? (check Soul Mining, tracks 2, 3)]

Understanding Games - Part 3

Part 3 of understanding games is up, and it's better than the first 2. The game you play really is a nice example of the trial-and-error system exploration.

I'm disappointed that this is only a 4-part project.

Understanding Games

Via Raph comes this awesome pointer to a couple Kongregate titles.

Just as Understanding Comics is to comics, Understanding Games is (attempting to be) to games. An interactive game that explains the fundamentals of the medium. Brilliant. Andreas Zecher is the creator.

Part 1
Part 2

It's ambitious, but he's starting simple and I applaud the effort.
