"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." - Robert A. Heinlein

So, the obvious question here becomes "How does this apply to games"? I can think of a few examples.
- in college my buddy replaced all the sounds in doom with movie quotes. It was brilliant and everyone wanted his 'remix'. Why don't more games allow for easy sound substitution?
- Spore. Well, yeah.
- the WoW UI. Honestly, it's the customizable UI that's kept me playing for so long. I'd love to see more games allow for massive UI customization. And it should be mandatory for all MMOs.
What else?
